My name is Bethlehem Agegne. I am currently 18 years old, attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. When I was 15 years old (10th grade), I was inspired to start this fundraiser because while I currently live in the USA, I was born in Ethiopia and immigrated to the United States from Ethiopia when I was 2 years old. I went to Ethiopia for the first time in 2016 and witnessed the heartbreaking impact of poverty on the innocent lives of millions of Ethiopian citizens, including children. These emotional sentiments stayed with me and later became a driving force behind the beginning of the For Ethiopian Children Fundraiser (FECF) over three years ago to assist Ethiopian children. I want to help the children who have been hurt as a result of this poverty as there are countless numbers of children that cannot even attend school in Ethiopia. Additionally, many are experiencing a lack of adequate healthcare; especially mothers and children. They are so brave to have made it out through all of their troubles. And now, they need help. They need our hands. Will you stand with me to support these innocent children? I hope, together, we are able to touch the lives of thousands of Ethiopian children.
